It starts with a low cost, easily
integrated acceptance device called the
Merchant Shopcarte at each
retailer's counter. This rugged device is the perfect companion to every
retailer's Point-of-Sale system. In addition to its hassle free
integration with the existing retailer's system, this peripheral device
also passes critical information directly to the WearLogic Web Hosted
Retail Platform.
The Platform provides all of the
critical information required for a loyalty program. This is achieved
with four main modules:
- Retailer Program Manager: This
allows each retailer to individually customize the loyalty program
they want to offer to different types of customer groups. For example,
the retailer can offer a 10% discount to a VISA smart cardholder and a
frequency program to its private card members. The segmentation of
offers is unlimited.
- Issuer Program Manager: This
provides a comprehensive view across a broad range of retailers
offering special
promotions or other loyalty programs to its customers. It also the
issuer to broker for its member special promotional or other loyalty
offers. For example, every VISA Smart Card may receive 20% off at a
special merchant rather than 5%. This Issuer Program Manager also
allows easy interface with bank Smart Card management and loyalty
systems.
- Device Management System:
Unlike any other loyalty system, the WearLogic Platform can interact
with a broad range of mobile devices. This includes, Smart Cards (EMV
and other), RFID chips (i.e. Mobil’s Speedpass), and IR equipped PDAs
and cell phones. Using the Device Management System, a retailer has
the flexibility to accept any or all of these devices at their
Point-of-Sale.
- Customer Support System: This
system provides issuers and retailers with quick and easy access to
the critical information required to respond to its customers’
problems and questions. For example, a customer can report a lost card
or be able to discuss the benefits of using one mobile device over
another.

Plus, the WearLogic Retail Loyalty
System can accept a broad range of mobile devices providing membership
program issuers the flexibility to offer techno savvy programs at the
Point-of-Sale. These mobile devices include Smart Cards, RFID chips
embedded on cards, key fobs and in the form of a peel and stick tag
which can be mounted to cell phones or PDAs, and IR equipped devices.
